Structure: Subject + V2 + Object

Example of simple past tense in Hindi :

  1. I ate a mango. (मैंने आम खाया|  / मैं  आम खाता  था | )
  2. He went from here. (वह यंहा से गया | )
  3. She came to read here. (वह यंहा पढ़ने आई | वह यंहा पढ़ने आती थी | )
  4. They bought a car. (वे लोग एक कार खरीदें | )
  5. We heard this news. (हमलोगो ने यह समाचार सुना | )
  6. They heard this news. (वे लोगो ने यह समाचार सुना | )
  7. I told him about it. (मैंने इसके बारे में उसे बताया | )
  8. He sold this Laptop. (उसने यह लैपटॉप बेचा | )
  9. I bought this chair. (मैंने यह कुर्सी ख़रीदा | )
  10. We got ready to go to the market. (हमलोग बाजार जाने के लिए तैयार हो गए | )
  11. We went to school. (हमलोग स्कूल जाते थे | )
  12. She came here. (वह यंहा आती थी | )
  13. My mother cooked food. (मेरी मम्मी खाना बनाती थी | )

Elaboration:

Statement:   She came to read here. (वह यंहा पढ़ने आती थी | )
Interrogative:   Did she come to read here? (क्या वह यंहा पढ़ने आती थी ?)
Negative:   She did not come to read here. (वह यंहा पढ़ने नहीं आती थी | )
Interrogative.Negative:   Did she not come to read here? (क्या वह यंहा पढ़ने आती थी | )
Question Tag 1:    She came to read here, didn't she? (वह यंहा पढ़ने आती थी न ?)
Question Tag 2:    She did not come to read here, did she? (वह यंहा पढ़ने नहीं आती थी न ?)

Elaboration:

Statement: Mahan bought a car. ( मोहन ने एक कार ख़रीदा | )
Interrogative: Did Mohan buy a car? (क्या मोहन ने कार ख़रीदा ?)
Negative: Mohan did not buy a car. (मोहन ने कार नहीं ख़रीदा | )
Interrogative.Negative: Did Mohan not buy a car? (क्या मोहन ने कार नहीं ख़रीदा ?)
Question Tag 1: Mohan bought a car, didn't he? (मोहन ने कार ख़रीदा न ?)
Question Tag 2: Mohan did not buy a car, did he? (मोहन ने कार नहीं ख़रीदा न ?)
